It's very likely that I'm considering a use case that you guys just don't want to cater for, maybe it was and will never be for someone like me, but that's just my feedback This is the source original quality, and what I expect to upload to YouTube:Īs I can't seem to record locally, or set the bitrate manually, I can't retain the source resolution and increase the unacceptably low frame rate of 10fps, I can't use Screencast for what I do. This results in a quality of video unacceptable for my personal standards, that is subjective however this is a sample still of what I downloaded from Screencast: However, Screencast appears to process and downsample the video to 1280x720 and critically nerfs the bitrate to around 0.5mbps (my camera records at 100mbps and my normal preferred screen recording software usually puts out at 2.0mbps), and my download seems to also be at 10fps?! Apparently I can upload a recording the screencast website at a 16:9 aspect ratio, recorded real time at 1920x1080 30fps, once it has finished uploading and processing I can download the MP4 file. There is no function to create a local only recording, I want to be able to create a locally stored MP4 recording which I can import into Adobe Premiere Pro to add post production effects and editing. I'm open to being corrected and proven wrong if my inexperience with it is at fault here, but so far my observations are: I love the burned in keystrokes and feature use timeline, the benefits there are clear.īut for someone who creates product guidance content for YouTube, unfortunately Screencast appears to be unsuitable. If the end goal of Screencast is purely to have a self contained community on the Autodesk Screencast website, then I guess it's perfect for casual educators to share informal and situational video guidance for small time consumption. However it still doesn't offer what I would consider the basic tools for a content creator, meaning I simply cannot use Screencast even if I wanted to. Not sure if I'm your target demographic, but as someone who has previously produced 270+ Autodesk Inventor product videos on YouTube, Screencast should be right up my alley.
